Guilin - Central - An older couple - count the proceeds from
a long days work. In China the government has failed many of
it's older citizens by providing inadequate pensions and
health services for its aging population. Ofcourse this is not
only a problem in China and other developing nations, but also
in the so called "developed west" as well. In China this is not only
problem that affects the aging it affects the younger
generation as well - It is still expected ('a duty') for the oldest
child (usuallly the only child) to not only care for their older
relations but also to house and feed them.
This couple is an exception in an ever increasing population
of older citizens.
